The House

The Tea House overlooks the heart of Marigot Bay which is often regarded as the most beautiful bay in the whole of the Caribbean. This unique property sits majestically on tropical slopes offering an intimate panoramic view from the Caribbean Sea along the full length of the bay.

 

The architecture is a direct result of the owner’s comprehensive travelling experience’s and has infused Balinese/Thai culture supported by intricate detailing throughout. Traditional stonework, South American hardwoods and local raw materials have been tastefully combined.

The curved roof has become a local landmark and consists of Guyanese timbers finished in locally quarried clay tiles whilst the whole structure is supported by elegant columns and mahogany gothic arches achieving an organic and welcoming feel.

The sweeping driveway of this unique property leads to a charming antique English church door – a first insight into the individual and eclectic feel of the property. The main staircase ascends into the vast foyer which has a full size pool table and is central to the open plan layout of the kitchen, sitting room & covered terrace and open dining areas.

You’re greeted by a bronze Buddha and carved baby elephant a resident that never fails to induce a smile. The natural finishes, openness, oriental décor and artwork create an overwhelming sense of spiritual wellbeing and relaxing karma.

The house allows a natural flow between indoor & outdoor living with several terraces, decks and balconies boasting views of the Caribbean ocean, the enchanting Marigot bay and lush gardens in which the house & swimming pool are set.

Large folding doors easily open to invite the refreshing Atlantic breezes into this spacious venue.
